Roman’s Recommended Yoga Pose for Core Strength & More

Manic:  Still blaming my weak core on my two C-sections….but my last one was 10 years ago, so I guess I can’t use that excuse anymore and I find sit-ups boring.

Managed:  Learning and doing some wonderful yoga poses that work the core without hurting my neck.  Plus this pose feels great and is not boring like sit-ups!  And it is Roman-recommended!  Try it….

Roman says:

Vasisthasana: Side Plank Pose

Benefits:

*Improves sense of balance

*Core strength

*Wrist strength

*Arm strength

Pose:

1.  Start at the top of a push up (plank).

2.  Pick up right hand and place it next to the left hand in line with the center of chest.

3.  Spread fingers wide pressing equally through all five finger tips.  Allow the heels to drop to the right.

4.  Stack left leg on top of right.  Press hips to the ceiling and extend left arm upward keeping the arms in line with each other (bone stacking), lining up wrists elbows and shoulders.

 

Contraindications and Cautions:

*wrist, elbow, or shoulder injuries
