Weekly Pet Pic: Celebrating Sweet Sinclair

Today’s weekly pet pic honors my cousin Terri’s beautiful little cat, Sinclair.  For 18 years, Sinclair was Terri’s constant companion, as you can see here as she helps her Mom with her college studies.  And look at her funny back paws stuck straight up in the air!  So cute….

Sinclair passed away on August 16th and I asked Terri if we could share some of Sinclair’s beautiful photos today to pay tribute to this sweet and loving kitty.

And today’s pet pics pay tribute to all of our beloved pets who sadly, must leave us someday to cross the over the Rainbow Bridge.  If you haven’t heard that soothing poem about losing our pets, I will share it after Sinclair’s photos below.

But first, enjoy the pretty photographs of this sweet cat that were taken by a Terri, a talented photographer…..and a lover to all animals.  Terri grew up on a farm so she truly has a gentle heart and special way with all of God’s animal creatures.  You can see that in the photos that show how well she cared for Sinclair.  Terri’s sweet kitty moved with her to new towns several times in her 18 years, never once complaining, and always easily adjusting to her new homes, as long as she was with her Mama, Terri.

You can just see that Sinclair was having sweet dreams here.

One of my favorite pics that Terri took of a very relaxed Sinclair one afternoon. Thank you Sinclair for the joy you brought to our Terri. Rest in peace sweet Sinclair.

For those of you that have lost pets, the pain is hard to describe as they love us unconditionally, so it is a very difficult loss.  When our family’s beloved first cat, Zilker died, my friend, Cherene shared this lovely rainbow poem with me.  Today I share this with Terri and with all of you that have had to say goodbye to your beloved companion.  Celebrate the joy they brought you…and the joy that you gave to them.  Here is the poem….

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge….

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….
