I had to get my java fix at Macys, a Flagstaff favorite for organic coffee and healthy breakfast and lunch fare. Macys is located on Beaver Street across the street from another favorite, Beaver Street Brewery.

Want A Wonderful Weekend Trip? Visit Flagstaff!

Manic:  Another hockey trip.  We’ve been traveling with my son’s hockey teams for the last seven years and any time we go out of town, it is a bit hectic to prepare our home, pets and other details, so we can get away.

Managed:  This trip!  Flagstaff was so relaxing and was a nice and easy get away.  Read on to see where to stay, what to eat and where to shop.  I loved this trip and our team played well, too!  Here is our weekend away to fabulous Flag told with pictures…

This is the pretty view from our room. We miss seeing leaves change in Phoenix, but we can get our fall weather fix in beautiful Flagstaff and it is only a 3 hour drive from Phoenix. Good stuff!

Our team stayed at the SpringHill Suites and we received a terrific group rate of only $109 a night! And that included a free daily breakfast 🙂

Check out the hotel's cool lobby. Reminds me of Mad Men and the new Pan Am show. I love the retro style.

And here is where guests can lounge and eat the complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning.

And kids can play computer games here or guests can use this area to confirm flight reservations and more.

After a restful night in our room at SpringHill Suites www.flagstaffspringhillsuites.com, we ventured out to sneak in a cup of my favorite coffee before heading to my son’s hockey game.

I had to get my java fix at Macys, a Flagstaff favorite for organic coffee and healthy breakfast and lunch fare. Macys is located on Beaver Street across the street from another favorite, Beaver Street Brewery.

Just look at my yummy Cafe Mocha surrounded by delicious hot cocoa. My favorite cup of coffee in the entire world!

My hubby and my friend both ordered the scrumptious yogurt and granola from Macy's breakfast menu. I was offered a taste and the healthy bite I took didn't disappoint. It was very good!

In addition to Macy’s European Coffeehouse, Bakery & Vegetarian Restaurant, www.macyscoffee.net, I also recommend another Flag favorite place for great Thai food….

Like Thai food? Then you will love Pato Thai Cuisine on San Francisco Street in downtown Flagstaff.

At Pato Thai, we paired our Pinot Grigio wine with two amazing dishes.  The first dish that is pictured to the left of the rice is the Yellow Curry, which is made with potato, carrot and onion in coconut milk.  The other dish is the spicy Panang that consists of authentic Thai chili paste, peanut sauce, bell pepper, green bean, carrot and corn in coconut milk.  So incredibly tasty!  Pato Thia http://patothai.com/home.html is located at 104 N. San Francisco Street in downtown Flagstaff.

And we did some shopping.  I found several favorite pieces at the Basement Marketplace located in the Old Town Shops at 120 N. Leroux. Not only were the fashions fun and fabulous, but the staff was very friendly and helpful, too.

I loved shopping at the Basement Marketplace!

And Flagstaff is a fun place for pets, too….

Our friends brought their handsome dog, Teddy up to Flag for the weekend!

Sorry I don’t have more scenic pictures of Flagstaff because it is a beautiful place to visit.  When I wasn’t at the Jay Lively ice rink (which has a fun playground) to watch my son’s team play hockey… as you can see…. I was either shopping or eating!  Flagstaff is a great place to visit for the price, for the food, for the shops and mostly for the beautiful mountains and pine trees that will soon be capped with snow.
