Pet Pics: Constant Cat Companionship During a Rough Week

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Woo Hoo….I’m finally feeling like myself again.  After spraining my ankle and then getting a cold virus that kept me in bed for two days, I can look back at the last week and tell you that it was a rough one.  Through it all, I still managed to get my kiddos to every practice, rehearsal, show, cast party, team BBQ, school exams, dentist appointment and more….all while my hubs had to travel, of course.  So to wake up today and feel like me again is a feeling that I’m quite grateful to feel.  While I had my foot propped up at the beginning of last week followed by bed rest, a Kleenex box and a humidifier later in the week, I could always count on my feline friends to hang out with me….

First the foot went and my loyal Tucker, as you can see him in the background, continued to stay close until I was up and at em' again.

Next came bed rest, and as usual, the cats kept me company and I think they were thrilled that Mom was taking a midday nap that they could partake in because this is something that I never do, unless I’m sick….

Even Lucy girl joined in and she usually doesn't go on the boys' bed turf. I guess they allowed it since Mom was sick.

A few days later, I was back at my desk (in my sick jammies) but working away on my computer and my cat community was content to join me there….cat kiss

Stanley even became my watch cat and gave out a good growl minutes before two strangers appeared at my door.  Thanks to Stan’s warning, I moved away from the window, ignored their knocks and watched them leave.  I wasn’t interested in anything that they were selling or sharing and I don’t like when people come over unannounced, not to mention I was working in my sick day jammies.  stanieThank you my watchman Stan!

And finally, I felt well enough to dive back into the mountain of laundry that accumulates when the Mama in the family takes sick days (it just doesn’t work well for Moms to take sick days) and the antics of this one gave me a good laugh…

Lucy jumped in the basket and arranged the towels herself so that she was swaddled like a baby!

It cracks me up that when she is sleeping her entire little black face disappears. Such a cutie pie and a smart one to turn a laundry basket into the perfect feline bed.

Did I mention that I’m looking forward to a new week?  Kids are on Fall Break and I start a big freelance project that I’m excited about.  So I choose to look on the bright side and be thankful that last week was the rough one!  Have a great week everyone and email your pet pics to [email protected].
