Halloween Decorations Done by a Tween

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Manic:  A tween with time on her hands two weeks ago when I had to work all of Fall Break week.

Managed:  She decided to keep herself busy by decorating our home in haunted Halloween decor.  Some of her ideas are so unique and some are free, so I had to share.  Most of the store-bought decorations were from years past.  We did pick up a few things from Michael’s, JoAnn Etc and Walgreens. lexi decoratingSometimes it is OK to let the tween loose with the holiday decor!  Check out her eerie end result and creepy creativity….

table for Halloween I like how she incorporated my everyday candles into her Halloween creation.  It worked!  My wines didn’t go untouched either….wine labels And check out her haunted humor with her mirror idea?  The letters say “Want to see a monster…”mirror

And her scary signs collection (minus spell check, we are working on that)….

I like how she says not to come alone, but also don’t be scared!  My favorite are her friendly ghost creations…

I love how she used a Sharpie to draw on the pillows that we bought from the sewing store.

She asked me to buy extra toilet paper and I soon discovered why….stairs

And to wrap up, my last spooky shot is of a chair that wasn’t ignored by our decorating diva…or her diva cat, who just happens to be the fitting Halloween color black….chair

Did any of my tween’s tricks or treats inspire you to decorate for Halloween?  I think she may have some interior design skills in her creepy bones.  She told me that Halloween is the right one to decorate for because if anything is slightly off, it works since it is supposed to be crooked and creepy.  Love it!
