Watch the Manic Managed Mom on Your Life!

My 3TV segment this week is all about what’s hot in summer’s cool colors when it comes to makeup and accessories.  I love summer and I love the cheerful bright colors that pop up on store shelves as the weather warms.  So I did some research to find out what’s cool in summer’s hot colors this season.  Read on to see which colors are in and watch the segment to see some fun makeup and fashion finds.

Cool Coral:
Call it orange or call it coral, it’s bright and it’s back this season.  In nails, the color calls for flat and bright like Essie’s Brazillant shade that sells for $7.99 at drug stores.

I also found cool coral kitten heels at Payless Shoesource for only $19.99.  Made by Fioni, this JoJo slide sandal also comes in black and white.  Register with Payless at www.payless.com, because I have received three 20% off coupons this month alone!

Breezy Blues:
When it comes to blue, there are several shades to consider for your summer fashion fun.  For a big night out, go for the darker royal blue like Maybelline’s Express Finish Blue Brilliance shade, but lighten up at the office.  A pretty powder blue like Revlon’s Blue Lagoon is a better choice.  Like decorative nails?  Go for a simple clean design like a delicate white flower drawn on a white nail.  Sally Hansen’s Nail Art Pen in the color called Bright Blue makes good designs.

A local beauty consultant I know tells me that the bright and shimmery eyes from the 1950’s make a comeback this season.  Maybelline proves it with their limited edition Teal Appeal bright blue mascara.  For a hot summer’s night out on the town, she says the bright blue shimmery shadows and blue hue mascara are in style this summer.  Fun!

Lovely Lilacs:
Lilac lips are in, but this summer it is a clear sheer shade that is sexy.  Go with a natural glow rather than a caked on thick lip stick.  Revlon demonstrates this natural lip trend with their Lilac Pastels Lip Gloss.

And for the eyes, if you want to go dramatic, then line your eyeliner with a blended lilac eye shadow for added emphasis when out on the town in the evening.  Watch the segment to see a picture of this idea.

Wedges are back and I’m thrilled because they are more comfortable than traditional heels.  I recently purchased a pretty pair in lavender by American Eagle.  I’m very happy with how they look and feel.  Comfortable and priced right at $24.99 at Payless Shoesource.

Handbags are also a fun way to accent your outfit with a simple summer color.  Watch the segment to see the lavender Vera Wang Hobo purse from Kohl’s.  Regularly priced at $79, Kohl’s price is $55.

Lively Lemon:
This month’s issue of In Style magazine calls lemon the color of the moment.  In Style also recommends one coat of yellow nail polish for fair skin and two coats for a darker complexion.  I recommend a brand called Sinful Colors Professional line that sells a bright yellow shade, playfully called, Let’s Meet.  For a lighter lemon look, go for Maybelline’s Express Finish Sunshine shade.  Both look great and both sell for under $8 at drug stores.

Modish Metallics:
Bronzy warm metallics are in.  Silver shimmery sandals and handbags make the cut, too.  Bamboo shades in nail polish compliment tan skin and bronzer powder gives a warm glow to a healthy summer face.  Maybelline bronzer works well and Walgreen’s saves you money with their own line of a body bronzing stick that I bought for $4.99.  This is the safer way to get a quick tan.

Almay sells a helpful eye shadow line that is packaged to easily demonstrate which colors goes on the lid, crease and right under the brow.  I especially like their shade called Almay Intense i-color Smoky-I Kit.
The silver clutch bag that I bought on sale for $7.99 and metallic sequins sandals ($26.99) are both sold at Payless Shoesource.

So whether your favorite summer color is a brilliant blue or cool coral, there are several shades to choose from.  And remember to keep it simple and natural in the day, but feel free to play up the fun shimmery colors at night.  And no matter what shade you choose to color your summer, remember to drink tons of water to keep skin hydrated so those fun colors glide on skin that glows.

Happy Warm Weather everyone!  What’s your favorite summer color?  Tell us here in the comments section.
